Types of Wireless Home Security Systems
When you’re looking for a solution to make your home a safer place, the number of wireless home security systems can be a bit mind boggling. It’s good to know exactly what you’re looking for and how much you’re willing to spend. For instance, how many windows and doors enter your house? Do you need to protect all of them or only the doors? Or, do you not even need that much?
The one thing all wireless home security systems have in common, obviously, is that they’re all wireless they all, in other words, interface between sensors and a central mainframe which can be disarmed with a code or key fob transmitter to allow you entry into your own home without having the police show up on your doorstep five minutes after getting home from work.
The level at which this operates varies greatly. Some systems will monitor your entire household, with motion sensors on the doors and windows and a central mainframe that will alert the police should even the craftiest of cat burglars get into your house. Others will merely sound a sound alarm should a single entrance, such as a door or window, be breached. Some are even less traditional, calling to mind James Bond movies with cameras hidden in VCRs transmitting closed circuit television wirelessly to whatever source you wish. Whatever it is you’re looking for, think about how much you need to protect and how much you’re willing to spend to do it.
